How to Negotiate Salary for IT Computer Support Specialist job

Getting a job alone can be a difficult task to accomplish, but after you get a job there are still some things you need to be aware of such as; your salary, benefits, 401K, and retirement. Companies are going to want to pay you the least amount possible so being able to confidently negotiate how much you are worth is very important. However, trying to negotiate how much you are worth can be very hard to do. I am going to give you a few tips to help you negotiate salary and other benefits for your job here. First, you should look up online and do some research on your position and how much other professionals are making in your field. That doesn’t mean that just because they make a certain amount doesn’t mean you will make that. They could have more experience or better qualifications. But you can get a ballpark idea of how much you should be paid. You should let the employer offer the first number for your salary, then based on that, you can make a counter offer. After you make your counter offer you should justify your counter offer to your employer and state reasons why you are worth this much and try to show that and persuade them that you are worth this much money. You should make sure you don’t make demands though. You want to make sure you don’t do that because that won’t get you anywhere. People often negotiate other than just in person in your boss’s office. Negotiations can be made via phone call, email, etc. If you are...

7 Steps to improve your presentation skills to get a job during interview

Some steps to help me in the job interview include; Rehearsing your answers and practicing how you think the interview might go. This is extremely beneficial because you look much better if you know all of your answers and have practiced the interview. Dress is also a big part in the interview. You want to wear nice clothes and look presentable. If you show up to a job interview in sweat pants and a hoodie your chances of getting the job significantly drop. Speak loud. This is also very important because you want them to be able to hear you loud and clearly. This shows that you are confident and good with communication. Another big tip that you should try to do is to simply just sit still. It will be very distracting to the interviewer if you are fidgeting with your hands while you speak or twirling you fingers in your hair. Just sit still in the chair with your hands in your lap. Keep it simple. Don’t over explain all your answers or tell them tons of information they don’t want to hear. Tell them what they need to know about yourself and if they want to know more they will ask. Be confident. Be yourself, confident, and creative. Think over what you will say before you just start saying things in an interview. Relax and be...

How to Create LinkedIn Profile – Step by Step tutorial

There are dozens of social media sites out there and dozens of new social media sites coming out all the time. However, most of them are not used for professional use they are used for personal use. There is a social site used for business use and that site is called LinkedIn.            LinkedIn is a business-oriented social networking service. Its main use is for professional networking meeting new people and possible job opportunities. Although, employers may also look you up on other social media sites as well such as; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. so it is very important not to post just anything online. Your employer doesn’t want to see a picture of you on Facebook doing a beer bong or partying. You want to keep a clean image on social sites because you don’t know who is going to go and look all that information up someday when you are trying to get a job. But, it is better to have that posted on say Facebook than LinkedIn.            When creating your new LinkedIn profile, you want to pick a profile picture that is professional, and you want that picture to be a recent well-taken picture of you. You want to do that because if you are at a networking event or a job interview and an employer looks you up on LinkedIn you want them to be able to find you easily and they can look at your picture and clearly tell that it is you.   Secondly, on your profile on the top header under your profile picture, there is a header you can put...

Tips on Writing Resume

Writing a resume for a job opening can be a very difficult and nerve-racking thing to do. From deciding what type of resume you wish to use, to deciding the word choice you will use. However, there are some excellent tips out there to help you with your new resume you are creating. I’ll discuss a handful of tips here that will hopefully help when writing a new resume.            The first tip that I have is to start your resume out with a branding statement. Rather than beginning with a traditional objective statement, consider using a branding statement to make your resume stand out. This is the first thing that an employer will see so you want them to want to keep reading.            The second tip is to use key words that match the job description. This is very important because if the employer can tell that you sent this same resume to 30 different companies they will stop reading and throw it away. You want to personalize it to that company. Another good tip that may sound simple is to just be honest. They will be able to tell if you are lying and nobody is going to want to hire someone that just lied to them on their first impression. There is the saying that a first impression lasts a lifetime, you don’t want your first impression to be lying.            Another great tip is remembering not to overshare. It is great to tell them all about your achievements and personal accomplishments, however, you want to try to keep it as brief as possible. You...
