Promoting a mobile repair Business through the use of Social Media

Promoting a mobile repair Business through the use of Social Media

When promoting a mobile repair business through the use of social media there are many different things you can do. In this instance, our mobile repair business will be promoted through the use of its own personal website. The benefit of having its own website is that, just like the MATC support website the mobile repair business will be able to share articles on latest devices. By posting articles it will be a way to gain attention by customers. It will also give customers a chance to share articles they have read. There will also be a comment section for customers to be able to write and post comments beneath the articles so they can interact with other commentators. The personal website will also have video tutorials with tips and tricks on how to use and repair minor fixes on their mobile devices. Since it is a mobile repair business the video tutorials will not be of any major repairs that would take away from the actual business, but simple repairs. Not only will the website include videos, but there will also be pictures of the different mobile devices that the mobile repair business can fix. This will make it easier for the customers to know exactly which devices the business works with. Our personal website will also include individual repair parts and prices. This gives our tech savvy customers the opportunity to buy specific parts directly from our company and repair their phones if they know how to. For our other customers it gives them the opportunity to learn about the specific parts of their phones and get to...

Why things should be designed so they can be repaired

It is common knowledge that nothing lasts forever, and the same goes for technology.  Things break, parts fail and we all know accidents happen.  So when a technological mishap does happen why not try and repair it yourself before just tossing out? The topics that will be discussed with why things should be designed so they can be repaired are; easy access for upgrades, to save money, and to open up a world of opportunities. When you design something so that it can be repaired you have to think of the layout of the actual device for repairing. According Autodesk's Adam Menter, “products like electronics have components that can fail, or need to be upgraded, well before the rest of the product needs to be replaced,”(Menter). These products need to be designed in a way that is going to make them easy to open up and replace only the parts that need repairing. It makes sense to have the parts that may need to be replaced sooner than others in areas that are going to have easier access. This is all about the layout or the design of the actual device. Another reason that things should be designed so they can be repaired is to save money. Consumers could save a lot of money if they just fixed their broken devices themselves. If you think about it the internet is filled with manuals and videos of how to tutorials on how to fix broken devices. These are all free for people to access and view that could help them fix their devices and save them money. There are also...
Emotional Intelligence in IT

Emotional Intelligence in IT

When thinking about a job in IT, emotional intelligence is probably not the first thing that comes to mind. Most people think an IT person is someone who sits in front of a computer all day and does not do much communicating with others, but this is not true. IT people actually do a lot of communicating and that is what makes emotional intelligence a huge part of their job. So what is emotional intelligence and what does it have to do with IT? According to an article by psychology expert Kendra Cherry, emotional Intelligence is the ability to perceive, control and evaluate emotions (Cherry). Emotional intelligence is a skill that can help people when reacting to other’s emotions. There are even four branches to emotional intelligence. The branches are perceiving emotions, reasoning with emotions, understanding emotions and managing emotions. These four branches can be incorporated into the everyday job of an IT professional. Starting with the first branch, perceiving emotions, involves understanding body language and even facial expressions. If an IT professional is called to a place of business to fix a computer problem they may encounter that the user of that computer is unhappy. One way for the IT professional to figure this out is by watching the user’s body language. Crossed arms, a stern face or even hands the hips are just a few body languages that can help identify someone’s emotions. Moving on to the second branch, reasoning with emotions. This branch is all about cognitive thinking. Given the same situation with the IT professional, the professional must now think about the emotion that has been given...
