How to find disassembly and reassembly instructions for laptop, Ultrabook and mobile device repair?

I hate to make a long story short so lets expand on this a little. I grew up with highly pixelated images, The Number Munchers game, and well before Google. If you need answers you went to go get them. As in physically leaving the house to go get them.  Number Munchers circa 1991 ish Since we have all of resources at our fingertips i’ll highlight some of the best sources that may come up during your google search. The best way to find disassembly and reassembly instructions are to first search by the model and brand of mobile device, laptop or ultrabook that you own. If you have a Dell Ultrabook it’s best to do a search using both dell and ultrabook disassembly and reassembly as keywords. This will give you a more narrowed down search that is specific to your kind of device.  If you do a generic search it will give you instructions for their device which may not apply to yours. If you are a visual person you can even watch YouTube tutorials to see how others have disassembled and reassembled thier device or even follow along with them. Here’s a screenshot of a video on YouTube that shows the disassembly of a Dell Ultrabook: To complete the process with less errors, I recommend using YouTube because it is easier to follow the instructions.   https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Dell+XPS+13+Teardown/36157 Ifixit gives detailed step by step instructions on disassembling a Dell Ultrabook along with pictures like the one seen above from their website. Ifixit and other similar websites are excellent ways to find disassembly and reassembly instructions for laptop, Ultrabook and...

Laptop, Ultrabook and Mobile Device Repair How To guides

There will always be point in time when a student or faculty member can damage their electronic device like a smartphone, laptop and/or mobile device. As a student, it is very important to be able to repair a damaged device than to replace it all together. In the unfortunate event that a repair is needed there are two options: fix it yourself or have someone else fix it for you either covered by a warranty or paid out of pocket, preferably a professional. If you fix it yourself you have a large number of resources available online in the form of video and downloadable and printable step by step tutorials. It is also very important to understand that this is not recommended if there is still active warranty on device. Doing self-repairs on a device will void any existing warranty on the device. After doing a good amount of research it is important to get the correct tools and parts that are needed to complete the repair. You can use sites like Amazon and EBay for parts and tools for the best price. Ordering parts online require a good amount of research before purchasing. Before completing the purchase, confirm the part numbers, packaging and reviews online related to the product. If possible, do price a few comparisons to see if there are other stores that offer the parts for a cheaper price or free shipping. Allowing someone else to fix the damaged laptop, Ultrabook or mobile device is recommended. Taking the device to an expert will have the correct tools and will most likely be familiar with the damage...

The web is an information space where documents and other web resources are identified by Uniform Resource Locators (URLs), interlinked by hypertext links and easily accessible through the internet.  Countless “how to’s” and do-it yourself “diy” imaginable is sourced on numerous websites.  And the leading forum specializing in internet-related searches, including webpages, images, videos and more in Google.  Google is the perfect place to find instructions for disassembling and reassembling laptop, Ultrabook, and mobile device repair, and much more. Notice, the snip (or partial screenshot) of the Google search engine below or Chrome browser (Google and Google Chrome have similar names, but different details –  Chrome is a web browser developed by engineers at Google). After typing in whatever you want to search, press the Enter key on the keyboard of your computer. Choose the most specific or relevant keywords or phrases to describe your topic, for example:  “how to disassemble an iPhone 4S?” and press ENTER on your keyboard. To maximize your search research, give specific details about the product, such as manufacturer’s name and version.  Next, access your results.  Use the tabs at the top to help define what type of search you want.  For “how to,” I would suggest a video.  In the image above, the first search result shows a guide in a portable document format (commonly referred to as “pdf” which is a file format used to present and exchange documents reliably), and the second is a YouTube link.  The more information you have, the better! ...

Accidental water spillage on mobile devices can be one of the most demoralizing experiences. Hopefully, if this happens to you there are series of steps you can take to save your device. The following steps are intended to save mobile devices from water damage but not coffee, milk or juice. Sugary liquids often leave behind solid residue, which complicates the situation. If this is the case, you should still follow these steps to dry the mobile device as a part of its repair. The process is the same whether the mobile device is a laptop, tablet…. Step 1: Turn off your device immediately by holding the power button. Subsequently, disconnect the power cord from the outlet. Step 3: Pull out the battery Step 4: Tilt the device at an angle to discourage liquid from reaching deeper parts. Step 6: Two methods can be used to dry mobile devices internal parts. Method 1: The method  1 consist of immersing the device in dry, uncooked rice in a sealed container or plastic bag.
