Steps to Improve Your Presentation Skills to get a Job...

7 Steps for a Good Presentation

You will need to work on your public speaking skills for talking in front of groups large and small. I put together 7 steps and explanations that will help you do better. Remember, always focus on your first and last steps and the most important message if you have not mastered public speaking and presentations. Decide what you are going to make the audience change after your presentations. Are you changing how they feel/think? Are you trying to persuade them? Or do you feel you want them to get to know you and what you offer?  Sometimes a presentation is to educate people, so make sure that in addition to getting them to like you, you are able to educate them on your message Keep each section very simple. If you have lots of words/bullets in your slides, or get too wordy over explaining yourself. If you add too much, they will get bored and lose interest. Keep points simple and use your voice, you will be talking a lot and will find a rhythm. Before you presentation, engage the venue members. Talk to who will be doing sounds and lighting. Make friends with them and get them on your side to help you. Practice where you will stand and how they can help you so you can both do a great job. Stand in one spot, do not pace and weave. How to personalize your presentation style

In creating a list of essential steps for self-improvement, after watching videos provided on YouTube I have created a list which is quite personalized to my presentation style. Having had a career in entertainment I have become quite sensitive to the audience to ensure performance. In terms of content of the presentation I must be tactical in determining how what I am conveying is a benefit to the recipients and how I can presented in a manner that will be truly effective in determining their thoughts and feelings. In creating the presentation concentrate on the flow and in doing so take all obstacles such as superfluous text and other objects which can take away from the presentation in developing the presentation realize the human condition and the psychology by which people learn. As I have learned in creating mobile applications getting the attention of the viewer is best achieved by objects presented that capture their imagination. The human mind is able to process motion much quicker than non static objects like bullet points in text. I have found that presenting object .gif file format for images sporadically can bring the attention span of the viewer back to the presentation. It is said that a picture is worth 1000 words so the use of images and having a brief understanding of what I’m trying to evoke in the crowd allows me to better sculpt the presentation. Just like presenting a picture book to a child simplicity of statement and the use of strong images to support the simple statement tends to have the best entertaining effect. As I have learned...
