Deploying the Latest Version of iPad Pro to the Enterprise: Cost Calculations

For this post I’m going to teach you how to deploy the latest version of the iPad pro in the least number of steps and the way that I see easiest. The version we will be deploying is the Apple iPad Pro 10.5-inch 64GB model in Space Grey. Going about purchasing these is easy. You have a few options ranging from calling apple, visiting the apple website or buying from a 3rd party like Best Buy. What I see as easiest is buying from the apple website, it’s easy to use and it’s a quick checkout. Projected cost of the 57 iPad Pros will be about $37,000 before taxes. They do offer a bulk buy discount which is about 8% so that 37,000 is only about $34,000 before taxes. There are no shipping costs from the Apple website either so that’s a nice little bonus as well. The shipping usually takes anywhere from 2 days to a week. For a big order like this one I would assume it’ll take about a week so be prepared to wait. Employees will probably ask if this will be replacing their laptops/pc’s. The simple answer is no. The iPad is a tool for mobile work and for use in meets, projects etc. When you don’t feel like lugging around your laptop just use the iPad. So, after ordering the iPads send out a quick email explaining that these are not replacements for your computers and is another tool to complete your work better. Now on to apps that make these iPads useful for business and the whole reason you’re buying them. First...

Preparing and Getting Certified for your HDI SCA Exam in Milwaukee

When working in the IT field having a certification and showing you have the basic knowledge in your field opens a lot of doors. When working with computer support, obtaining your HDI-SCA certification is one way to set yourself apart from others. For this post I’ll go over the most time/cost effective way of preparing and eventually obtaining this exam. The first step in obtaining your certification is knowing what’s going to be on the exam and what you should be studying. To do this, I recommend taking the practice exam first so you know what you’re in for. The practice exam is $79 dollars and can be taken multiple times. If you’re a member on their website you get a $10 dollar discount every time you buy the practice exam. Unless you’re a help desk genius, you’re not going to know very much on the topics presented, which transitions in to step 2. This step includes gathering resources/knowledge to figure out what you missed from the practice exam. There are TONS of books and classes that will teach you what you need to know to ace this exam. Just do a quick search on google for exam guides and classes and you’ll be on your way. One helpful class directly from the HDI website gives you a few options on classes to take. You can take a 2-day session in a classroom that goes over all you’ll need to know ($1,495.) There’s also an online course option that you can do at your leisure with the time frame ending at 12 weeks. They recommend 10-12 hours to complete...
